Possible Causes
Recent power outage or brownout, Faulty internal power supply on control board, Loose power cord connection, Tripped GFCI outlet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the grill is on a properly grounded outlet. Do not bypass GFCI protection.
- Step 1 – Check outlet: Plug a lamp or small appliance into the same outlet to verify power. If using a GFCI outlet, press the RESET button.
- Step 2 – Inspect power cord: Check the grill's power cord for cuts, burns, or crushed sections. Ensure the plug fits snugly in the outlet and at the controller entry point.
- Step 3 – Power cycle: Unplug the grill for 5–10 minutes. Plug back in directly to the wall (avoid long extension cords) and attempt to start. If ErP clears, monitor for recurrence.
- Step 4 – Inspect internal connections: With the grill unplugged, remove the controller mounting screws and gently pull the controller out. Verify that the main AC input wires are firmly connected to the control board and that no terminals are loose or burnt.
- Step 5 – Replace controller if damaged: If you see burn marks, swollen components, or smell burnt electronics on the control board, replace the main control board. Power supply components are not user-serviceable.
