Temperature Probe Short / High Reading Fault
Display shows H1 and temperature reading is extremely high or stuck at maximum

Possible Causes
RTD probe wires shorted together, Moisture inside RTD connector, Damaged RTD insulation touching metal body, Faulty control board input circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the grill to cool and unplug it before inspecting wiring.
- Step 1 – Inspect RTD probe wiring: Locate the RTD probe cable and check for spots where the two conductors may be touching or where bare wire is exposed and contacting the grill body.
- Step 2 – Dry connectors: Disconnect the RTD from the control board and inspect the connector for moisture or corrosion. Dry thoroughly and clean with electrical contact cleaner if needed.
- Step 3 – Isolate the fault: With the RTD disconnected, power on the grill. If the H1 code clears or the temperature reads error instead of max, the RTD is likely shorted and should be replaced.
- Step 4 – Replace RTD or controller: Install a new RTD temperature probe if wiring damage is found. If a new probe does not resolve the H1 error, the control board's temperature input circuit may be defective and require replacement.
