Possible Causes

User-selected very long pellet feed pause, Low ambient temperature, Strong wind cooling the fire pot, Low-quality pellets

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Note: P7 is typically the longest pause/lowest feed setting and can cause flame-outs in some conditions.

  • 1. Change P-setting:
    • Adjust the controller from P7 down to P4 or P3, or switch to a fixed temperature mode.
  • 2. Improve conditions:
    • Use a grill blanket or windbreak in cold/windy weather.
    • Ensure the lid remains closed during operation.
  • 3. Use quality pellets:
    • Switch to a premium, 100% hardwood pellet recommended by Masterbuilt.
