Possible Causes

Wet or poor-quality pellets, Excessive ash buildup, Weak combustion fan, Leaking door or gasket, Incorrect temperature sensor placement

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Allow the grill to cool before performing deep cleaning.

  • Check pellets: Replace any suspect pellets with fresh, dry, high-quality hardwood pellets. Avoid storing pellets in humid environments.
  • Clean fire pot and chamber: Vacuum ash from the fire pot, under the diffuser, and in the ash collection areas. Clean grease from the diffuser and drip trays.
  • Inspect fan: Ensure the combustion fan is running strongly and that its intake and exhaust paths are not blocked by grease or debris.
  • Check door seal: Inspect the lid gasket (if equipped) and door alignment. Large air leaks can reduce chamber temperature. Adjust hinges or replace gasket as needed.
  • Verify sensor location: Confirm that the internal RTD sensor is properly mounted and not touching metal surfaces that could skew readings.
  • Test performance: Run the grill at a moderate setpoint and compare displayed temperature with an independent thermometer. If LOW TEMP persists despite good combustion and sealing, the controller may not be driving the system correctly and could require replacement.
