Possible Causes
Grease or soot on RTD sensor, RTD sensor not fully seated, Controller PID parameters out of calibration, Excessive pellet feed rate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Allow the grill to cool before touching the internal sensor.
- Clean RTD sensor: Gently wipe the internal temperature probe with a soft cloth to remove grease and soot. Do not use abrasive pads.
- Check mounting: Ensure the RTD probe is firmly mounted and not loose or touching metal surfaces that could cause lagging readings.
- Firmware update: Check Memphis documentation for any controller firmware updates that improve temperature control and apply as directed.
- Pellet feed check: Verify that the auger is not running excessively at low setpoints. If it is, the controller may be faulty and require replacement.
