Strong chemical or plastic smell during first few cooks

Safety: Operate the grill outdoors in a well-ventilated area.

• Initial burn-off: Before cooking food, run the grill empty at 400–500°F for 1–2 hours to burn off residues, following Memphis pre-seasoning instructions.
• Clean surfaces: After cooling, wipe interior surfaces and grates with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then rinse and dry.
• Inspect for foreign materials: Ensure no plastic, tape, or packaging remains inside the grill.
