Display shows Er6 and grill will not power on or immediately shuts off

Safety first: Unplug the grill before opening the control panel. Do not bypass fuses or safety devices.

• Step 1 – Verify outlet: Plug a known‑good appliance or lamp into the same outlet used for the Monument grill. Confirm proper voltage and that any GFCI or breaker is not tripped. Reset if necessary.
• Step 2 – Inspect power cord: Check the grill's power cord for cuts, burns, or crushed sections. Replace the cord if any damage is found.
• Step 3 – Access control panel: Remove the screws securing the control panel and gently pull it forward. Look for an inline or board‑mounted fuse near the AC input. If the fuse is visibly blown (broken filament or blackened glass), replace it with the exact same type and rating.
• Step 4 – Check for moisture or corrosion: Inspect the inside of the control cavity for water intrusion, rust, or burned components. Dry any moisture and correct the source (leaking lid, missing grommets) before reassembly.
• Step 5 – Reassemble and test: After replacing a blown fuse and confirming no obvious shorts, reassemble the panel, plug in the grill, and power on. If the new fuse blows immediately or Er6 persists, disconnect power.
• When to replace the board: Persistent Er6 with good power and cord usually indicates a failed main control board. Replace the Monument main control board as a complete assembly following manufacturer instructions.
