Possible Causes
Combustion fan not spinning, Fan blades obstructed by debris, Loose fan connector at control board, Failed fan motor winding
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill and ensure all components are cool before accessing the fan.
- Step 1 – Access fan: Remove the lower or rear access panel to expose the Monument combustion fan assembly.
- Step 2 – Check for obstructions: Spin the fan blades by hand. Remove any debris, insulation, or wiring that may be contacting the blades.
- Step 3 – Inspect wiring: Verify that the fan connector is firmly plugged into the main control board and that wires are not damaged.
- Step 4 – Test fan during startup: Reassemble enough to safely run the grill. Plug in, start a cycle, and observe whether the fan starts. If it does not, stop the cycle and unplug.
- Step 5 – Replace fan: If the fan does not run and tests open on a multimeter, replace the combustion fan motor with an OEM Monument unit.
