Possible Causes
Failed auger motor, Stripped auger coupler, Jammed auger tube with compacted pellets, Loose auger wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and ensure the firepot is cool before working on the auger.
- Step 1 – Confirm control output: Start a feed or prime cycle and listen for the auger motor. If silent, check the auger connector at the control board.
- Step 2 – Inspect coupler: Access the auger motor and verify that the coupler between motor and auger shaft is intact and the set screw is tight.
- Step 3 – Check for jam: If the motor hums but the auger does not turn, remove the motor and attempt to rotate the auger by hand. If stuck, pull the auger from the tube and clear compacted pellets.
- Step 4 – Replace motor: If the auger spins freely but the motor will not run, install a new Monument auger motor.
