Possible Causes
Failed combustion fan motor, Obstruction preventing fan rotation, Disconnected fan wiring, Faulty fan output on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill and ensure there is no active fire before accessing the fan.
- Step 1 – Access fan assembly: Remove the lower or rear panel to expose the Monument combustion fan.
- Step 2 – Check for obstructions: Spin the fan blades by hand. Remove any debris or wires contacting the blades.
- Step 3 – Verify wiring: Ensure the fan connector is fully seated on the control board and that wires are intact.
- Step 4 – Test during startup: Reassemble enough to safely run the grill. Start a cycle and observe whether the fan starts. If not, stop and unplug.
- Step 5 – Replace fan or board: If the fan is seized or open‑circuit, replace the fan motor. If a known‑good fan still does not receive power, the main control board may need replacement.
