Hopper lid or main lid does not close properly or leaks smoke excessively

Safety first: Work on the lid only when the grill is cool.

• Step 1 – Inspect hinges: Check hinge brackets and pins for bending or looseness. Tighten hinge bolts.
• Step 2 – Check for warping: Close the lid and look for gaps. Minor warping may be improved by adjusting hinge alignment.
• Step 3 – Replace gasket: If equipped with a gasket, replace any sections that are burned, compressed, or missing.
• Step 4 – Avoid overheating: Do not operate the grill above its rated maximum temperature to prevent future warping.
