Possible Causes
Pellet jam in auger tube, Foreign object in hopper or auger, Failed auger motor, Auger shear pin broken (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the grill. Allow the fire pot to cool completely before working on the auger.
Steps:
- Empty hopper: Remove all pellets from the hopper to expose the auger intake.
- Check for foreign objects: Look for screws, nails, or other debris that may have fallen into the hopper and lodged in the auger.
- Remove auger: Access the auger motor from the rear or side panel. Remove the motor mounting bolts and slide the motor off. Pull the auger out of the tube and clear any compacted pellets or obstructions.
- Inspect shear pin/coupler: If your Napoleon model uses a shear pin or coupler between the motor and auger, verify it is intact. Replace if broken.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the auger and motor, ensuring smooth rotation. Refill the hopper with clean pellets and test feed.
