Possible Causes
Moisture intrusion into control panel, Damaged touchpad or buttons, Loose ribbon cable between display and main board, Control board failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the grill before removing the control panel.
Steps:
- Inspect control panel: Check for visible cracks, water ingress, or condensation behind the display lens. Dry the area thoroughly if moisture is present.
- Check connections: Remove the control panel mounting screws and gently pull the panel forward. Inspect the ribbon cable or harness between the display/keypad and the main control board. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Look for corrosion: Examine connector pins for green/white corrosion. Clean lightly with contact cleaner and a soft brush.
- Test operation: Reassemble, plug in, and test all buttons. If certain keys remain unresponsive, the keypad or display module may need replacement.
Note: If the entire panel is dead but power is present, the main control board may be faulty and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
