Possible Causes
RTD probe partially disconnected, Damaged RTD insulation causing intermittent open, Extremely cold ambient conditions, Control board calibration issue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the grill before accessing wiring.
Steps:
- Check connections: Inspect the RTD probe connector at the control board. Unplug and reconnect firmly.
- Inspect cable: Look for cuts, kinks, or crushed sections in the RTD harness. Repair or replace as needed.
- Ambient conditions: In very cold weather, preheat the grill longer and shield it from wind. However, readings far below ambient indicate a sensor issue.
- Test probe: Measure resistance at room temperature and compare to specifications. Replace if out of range.
