Possible Causes
Damaged meat probe cable, Probe tip exposed to direct flame, Loose probe jack connection, Failed meat probe sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use heat-resistant gloves when handling a hot probe. Allow it to cool if necessary.
Steps:
- Inspect probe: Check the stainless probe and cable for kinks, cuts, or melted insulation. Replace if damaged.
- Check jack: Unplug and reinsert the probe plug into the Napoleon probe jack several times to clean the contacts.
- Cross-check: If you have a second Napoleon probe, plug it into the same jack. If the second probe works, the original probe is faulty.
- Jack test: If multiple probes fail on the same jack, the jack or control board input may be defective and require replacement.
