Possible Causes
Inconsistent pellet feed, Weak combustion fan, Excessive ash buildup in fire pot, Poor-quality or damp pellets
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the grill to cool and ensure there is no active flame before cleaning.
Steps:
- Clean fire pot: Remove all ash and debris from the fire pot and surrounding area. A clogged pot can smother the flame.
- Check pellets: Replace pellets with a fresh, dry batch. Store pellets indoors in a sealed container.
- Observe feed: Run the grill with the heat diffuser removed (lid open, no food) and watch pellet delivery. Pellets should feed at a steady rate. Long pauses or surges indicate auger or control issues.
- Verify fan: Listen for steady fan operation. If the fan slows or stops intermittently, inspect and replace the fan motor if needed.
