Rust forming inside cook chamber or on grates

Safety first: Work on a cool grill.

Steps:

• Clean rust: Use a grill brush or fine abrasive pad to remove surface rust from grates and interior surfaces.
• Season grates: Apply a thin coat of high-smoke-point cooking oil to cast iron or steel grates and heat the grill to bake it in.
• Inspect finish: For damaged porcelain or stainless, follow Napoleon’s care recommendations; replace severely corroded parts.
• Storage: Keep the grill covered and dry when not in use.
