Nexgrill
Temperature Calibration / Sensor Accuracy Issue
Display temperature much higher or lower than actual grill temperature
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Aging RTD probe, RTD not fully inserted into cook chamber, Control board calibration drift, Heavy grease on sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use heat‑resistant gloves when checking temperature on a hot grill.
- Clean RTD probe: Wipe off grease and soot.
- Verify insertion depth: Ensure the probe extends properly into the cook chamber and is not pulled back into the wall.
- Compare with reference thermometer: Place a reliable oven/grill thermometer near the center of the grate and compare readings at several temperatures.
- Replace RTD if off by more than 25°F: Install a new Nexgrill RTD probe if readings are consistently inaccurate.
- Controller calibration (if available): Some models allow offset adjustment; follow Nexgrill instructions to fine‑tune displayed temperature.
