Display shows Er6 and grill will not power up fully or buttons are unresponsive

Safety first: Unplug the grill before removing the control panel.

• Access the control panel: Remove the screws securing the front control panel. Carefully pull it forward to expose the wiring and ribbon cables.
• Check connectors: Inspect the ribbon cable and plug between the display/keypad and the main control board. Reseat all connectors firmly. Look for bent pins or corrosion.
• Dry moisture: If there are signs of condensation or water inside the panel, gently dry the area with a clean cloth and allow the panel to air dry completely. Avoid using heat guns directly on electronics.
• Inspect keypad: Press each button while the panel is open and observe if the board registers input (some boards have diagnostic LEDs). If certain keys never respond, the keypad membrane may be defective.
• Replace faulty component: If reseating cables does not clear Er6, replace the Nexgrill control panel assembly (display + keypad) or the main control board, depending on which is identified as faulty. Follow manufacturer wiring diagrams to transfer each connector one at a time.
• Reassemble and test: Reinstall the control panel, plug the grill back in, and verify that the display initializes without Er6 and all buttons respond correctly.
