Possible Causes

Insufficient pellet feed, Combustion fan not running at full speed, Excessive heat loss from open lid, RTD sensor misreading low

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure the grill is stable and on a level surface before troubleshooting.

  • Confirm lid position: Always preheat with the lid closed. An open lid can prevent the grill from reaching preheat temperature.
  • Check pellet quality and level: Use dry, hardwood pellets and ensure the hopper is at least half full.
  • Inspect combustion fan: Listen for strong airflow during preheat. If airflow is weak, clean the fan and air passages and verify the fan is running at full speed.
  • Clean fire pot and burn area: Excess ash can smother the flame. Vacuum the fire pot and surrounding area.
  • Verify temperature sensor: If the grill is clearly hot but the display shows low temperature, inspect and test the RTD probe and replace if necessary.
