Nexgrill
Lid Seal / Gasket Failure
Heavy smoke leaks from lid edges and door seams instead of chimney
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Worn or compressed lid gasket, Misaligned lid hinges, Warped cook chamber lid, Missing gasket sections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Work on the lid only when the grill is cool.
- Inspect gasket: Open the lid and examine the gasket around the cook chamber. Look for flat, cracked, or missing sections.
- Check lid alignment: Verify that the lid closes evenly on all sides. Adjust hinge bolts to center the lid if needed.
- Replace gasket: Remove old gasket material and adhesive. Clean the surface with a degreaser. Install new Nexgrill high‑temp gasket, pressing firmly along the entire length. Allow adhesive to cure per instructions.
- Test seal: Close the lid and run the grill at a moderate temperature. Observe smoke path; minor wisps are normal, but heavy leakage should be reduced.
