Possible Causes
Failed auger motor, Stripped auger motor gearbox, Loose auger set screw, Jammed auger flighting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the grill to cool.
- Remove pellets from the hopper and vacuum out dust.
- Access the auger motor from the side or rear panel. Check that the motor mounting screws and the set screw or pin connecting the motor to the auger shaft are tight.
- With the motor removed from the shaft, start the grill briefly (with the motor hanging safely) to see if the motor spins. If it does not, replace the auger motor.
- If the motor spins but the auger does not when reconnected, inspect for a jam in the auger tube and clear it as needed.
Warning: Do not run the auger motor for more than a few seconds while disconnected from the auger; it is designed to run under load.
