Possible Causes
Pellet starvation from empty hopper, Excessive wind or cold ambient temperature, Combustion fan not running at full speed, Firepot overloaded with ash
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the controller to OFF and allow the grill to cool.
- Check the pellet hopper and refill with dry pellets if low.
- Remove grates and heat baffle, then vacuum the firepot and bottom of the cook chamber to remove ash buildup.
- Inspect the combustion fan for proper operation and clean the blades if dirty.
- Shield the grill from strong wind and, in very cold weather, allow extra preheat time and avoid frequently opening the lid.
- Restart the grill and monitor the temperature climb. If it repeatedly falls below setpoint and triggers TEMP LOW, further diagnosis of the fan, auger, or control board may be needed.
Warning: Do not leave the grill unattended during repeated flame‑out conditions; unburned pellets can accumulate and flare up on restart.
