Grill struggles to reach set temperature, especially in cold weather

Safety first: Turn the grill OFF and let it cool.

• Clean the combustion fan and air intake openings to ensure unobstructed airflow.
• Inspect the firepot for ash buildup and clean thoroughly.
• Use high‑quality, dry hardwood pellets recommended by Oklahoma Joe’s.
• Check the lid gasket (if equipped) and body seams for gaps; replace worn lid gasket material to reduce heat loss.
• In very cold or windy conditions, position the grill out of direct wind and allow extra preheat time.

Warning: Do not cover or insulate the controller or hopper with flammable materials to retain heat.
