Insufficient Heat Output
Grill struggles to reach set temperature, especially in cold weather

Possible Causes
Low combustion fan speed, Restricted airflow from dirty fan or intake, Low‑quality pellets with poor BTU output, Heat loss from lid or door leaks
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the grill OFF and let it cool.
- Clean the combustion fan and air intake openings to ensure unobstructed airflow.
- Inspect the firepot for ash buildup and clean thoroughly.
- Use high‑quality, dry hardwood pellets recommended by Oklahoma Joe’s.
- Check the lid gasket (if equipped) and body seams for gaps; replace worn lid gasket material to reduce heat loss.
- In very cold or windy conditions, position the grill out of direct wind and allow extra preheat time.
Warning: Do not cover or insulate the controller or hopper with flammable materials to retain heat.
