Possible Causes
Failed combustion fan motor, Obstruction preventing fan from spinning, Loose or damaged fan wiring, Faulty fan driver on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill before accessing the fan or removing panels.
- Step 1 – Listen for fan: On startup (before unplugging), listen for the fan. If silent or making grinding noises, note this.
- Step 2 – Inspect fan blades: Remove side or bottom panel to access the combustion fan. Check for debris, grease buildup, or bent blades preventing rotation. Clean and straighten as needed.
- Step 3 – Check wiring: Ensure the fan connector is fully seated on the control board and that wires are not cut or burned.
- Step 4 – Spin test: With power off, spin the fan by hand. It should rotate freely. If seized or rough, replace the combustion fan motor.
- Step 5 – Replace controller if needed: If a known-good fan does not receive power from the board, replace the main control board.
