Possible Causes

Failed hot rod igniter, No pellet feed to firepot, Combustion fan not running, Excessive ash blocking firepot

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure the grill is unplugged and cool before cleaning or accessing the firepot.

  • Step 1 – Confirm pellets in hopper: Fill with dry pellets and break up any bridging.
  • Step 2 – Clean firepot: Remove internal components and vacuum all ash from the firepot and burn area.
  • Step 3 – Check igniter heat: Start the grill on Smoke with an empty firepot. After 3–5 minutes, carefully feel near the firepot for heat. If no heat, replace the hot rod igniter.
  • Step 4 – Verify fan and auger: Listen for the fan and watch for pellets dropping. If either is not operating, troubleshoot the combustion fan motor or auger motor and associated wiring.
