Possible Causes
Shorted hot rod igniter, Damaged power cord, Moisture in electrical components, Shorted fan or auger motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a breaker that keeps tripping. Unplug the grill and investigate.
- Step 1 – Inspect power cord: Replace the power cord if there are any cuts or exposed wires.
- Step 2 – Disconnect components: With the grill unplugged, disconnect igniter, fan, and auger from the controller. Reconnect one at a time and test to identify which component causes the trip.
- Step 3 – Replace shorted part: Replace the component (often the hot rod igniter) that causes the breaker to trip when connected.
- Step 4 – Dry moisture: If the grill was rained on, allow all electrical parts to dry thoroughly before retesting.
