Possible Causes
Weak Wi-Fi signal at grill location, Corrupted Wi-Fi module firmware, Loose Wi-Fi module connector, Failed Wi-Fi module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill before accessing the control compartment.
- Check signal strength: Use a smartphone at the grill location to verify strong Wi-Fi signal. Move the router closer or use a range extender if needed.
- Power cycle: Unplug the grill for 60 seconds, then plug it back in to reset the Wi-Fi module.
- Inspect Wi-Fi module: Remove the control panel and locate the Wi-Fi module (often a small daughterboard or plug-in card). Ensure its connector is firmly seated.
- Re-pair with app: Follow the Rösle app instructions to remove and re-add the grill, entering the correct network credentials.
- Replace Wi-Fi module: If ER17 persists and the grill works otherwise, replace the Wi-Fi module with a compatible Rösle part.
