Possible Causes
Loose internal harness between sensors and control board, Corrupted control board firmware, Electrical noise or interference, Failing main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill before opening any panels.
- Inspect internal harnesses: Remove the control panel and any access covers to view the wiring harnesses connecting sensors (RTD, pellet level, fan tach, etc.) to the control board. Reseat each connector.
- Look for damage: Check for pinched, cut, or melted wires and repair or replace as needed.
- Firmware reset/update: If Rösle provides firmware updates via USB or app, follow their procedure to update or reset the controller.
- Test after reseating: Plug in and power on the grill. If ER20 clears, monitor for recurrence.
- Replace control board: If ER20 persists despite good wiring, the main control board is likely defective and should be replaced.
