Grill powers on but will not start the ignition cycle; pressing start does nothing.

Safety first: Unplug the grill before removing the control panel.

• Check lid position: Ensure the lid is fully closed if your Rösle model has a lid-closed safety requirement.
• Try multiple presses: Press the start button firmly several times to rule out a sticky membrane.
• Inspect keypad cable: Remove the control panel and verify the keypad ribbon cable is fully seated on the control board.
• Test lid switch (if present): Locate the lid switch and check that its actuator moves freely. Bypass temporarily for testing only if you are qualified and understand the risks.
• Replace keypad or board: If the start button does not register and wiring is intact, replace the keypad assembly or the main control board as needed.
