Possible Causes
Rust or debris in caster bearings, Bent caster stems from overloading or impact, Worn wheel tread
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Move and work on the grill only when it is cool. Lock casters before working underneath.
Steps to restore mobility:
- Clean casters: Remove hair, string, and debris from around caster axles and swivels.
- Inspect for rust: Check caster stems and bearings for rust. Light surface rust can be cleaned; severe rust may require replacement.
- Lubricate (if allowed): Apply a small amount of appropriate lubricant to caster swivel bearings, avoiding contact with cooking surfaces.
- Replace damaged casters: If wheels are flat-spotted, cracked, or stems are bent, replace with Recteq-compatible casters rated for the grill's weight.
Note: Always lock casters when cooking to prevent unintended movement.
