Possible Causes

Moisture intrusion into controller face, Worn or damaged keypad contacts, Loose controller mounting causing flex

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the grill before removing the controller.

Steps to restore button function:

  • Dry controller: If the controller has been exposed to rain or heavy condensation, remove it and allow it to dry in a warm, dry place for 24 hours.
  • Inspect faceplate: Look for cracks or gaps where moisture could enter. Replace the controller if the face is damaged.
  • Check mounting: Ensure the controller is mounted firmly and not flexing when buttons are pressed.
  • Test after drying: Reinstall and test button response. If still intermittent or dead, the keypad or encoder is likely failed.
  • Replace controller: Install a new Recteq-compatible controller assembly if the user interface remains unresponsive.

Note: Avoid spraying cleaners directly on the controller face; apply to a cloth first to prevent moisture intrusion.
