Possible Causes

Failed internal power supply on controller, Loose AC power cord connection, Blown main fuse on controller board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the grill before opening any control panel. Do not work on live AC circuits.

Steps to troubleshoot ER-6:

  • Verify outlet and cord: Plug another appliance into the same outlet to confirm power. Inspect the Recteq power cord for cuts, burns, or loose plug blades. Replace the cord if damaged.
  • Check main fuse: Remove the controller mounting screws and gently pull the controller out to access the rear. Look for a replaceable fuse (inline or board-mounted). If blown, replace with the same type and rating only.
  • Inspect connectors: Ensure all harness connectors (to auger motor, fan, igniter, RTD) are firmly seated. A shorted peripheral can cause power faults; look for burned or melted connectors.
  • Test power-up: With the controller reinstalled and all connectors secure, plug in the grill and attempt to power on. If ER-6 remains and the display is dim or flickering, the controller's internal power supply is likely faulty.

Important: Do not bypass fuses or modify wiring. If replacing the fuse does not resolve ER-6, the controller assembly should be replaced as a unit with a Recteq-compatible controller.
