Possible Causes
Empty pellet hopper, Pellet bridge preventing pellets from dropping to auger, Auger not feeding due to jam or motor failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill and allow it to cool if it has shut down unexpectedly.
Steps to resolve NO PELLET:
- Check hopper level: Open the hopper and verify pellet level. Refill with dry, high-quality pellets if low or empty.
- Break pellet bridges: Use a clean, dry tool or your hand to stir pellets in the hopper. Pellets can form a bridge and stop feeding even when the hopper appears partially full.
- Inspect auger feed: With the grill cool and mostly empty of pellets, start a feed test or ignition cycle and look into the hopper to confirm that the auger is pulling pellets down. If not, there may be a jam or motor issue.
- Clear auger jam if needed: If the auger does not turn, follow auger jam clearing procedures: remove pellets, access the auger motor, detach it, and pull the auger to clean out compacted sawdust.
- Restart: After confirming free auger movement and adequate pellets, restart the grill per Recteq's ignition instructions.
Note: If the message appears even with a full hopper and confirmed pellet feed, the controller's pellet detection logic may be faulty and the controller may need replacement.
