Possible Causes
Tripped GFCI or breaker, Faulty power cord, Blown main fuse on controller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure your hands are dry and the grill is in a dry area when working with AC power.
Steps to restore power:
- Check outlet: Plug a lamp or other appliance into the same outlet to confirm it has power. Reset any tripped GFCI or breaker.
- Inspect power cord: Examine the Recteq power cord for cuts, abrasions, or burn marks. Wiggle the plug gently in the outlet to check for a loose connection. Replace the cord if damaged.
- Check power switch (if equipped): Some models have a rear rocker switch. Ensure it is in the ON position.
- Inspect main fuse: Remove the controller and look for a replaceable fuse. If blown, replace with the same rating. If it blows again immediately, there is a short that must be diagnosed before further use.
- Controller replacement: If the outlet and cord are good and the fuse is intact but the controller remains dead, the controller's internal power supply is likely failed and the controller should be replaced.
Warning: Do not bypass fuses or hard-wire the grill directly to power. This can create a fire and shock hazard.
