Grill temperature is much lower than the display reading; food takes much longer to cook than expected.

Safety first: Allow the grill to cool before touching the probe.

Steps to correct reading:

• Clean probe: Gently scrub the RTD with a non-abrasive pad to remove soot and grease.
• Check mounting: Ensure the probe is firmly attached to the cook chamber wall and not hanging loose.
• Verify location: The probe should be in the main cooking area, not directly above the fire pot or near the exhaust.
• Compare with external thermometer: Run the grill at a set temperature and compare readings. If the RTD remains significantly off, replace it with a Royal Gourmet-compatible RTD probe.
