Er7 appears and grill will not respond to button presses

Safety first: Unplug the grill before removing the control panel or accessing wiring.

• 1. Inspect control panel for moisture: Check the front display and buttons for signs of condensation or water entry. If the grill was left uncovered in rain, allow it to dry completely for 24–48 hours in a dry area.
• 2. Reseat keypad ribbon cable: Remove the screws securing the control panel. Carefully pull it forward to access the ribbon cable or harness connecting the keypad to the main board. Unplug and re‑plug the connector, ensuring it is fully seated and straight.
• 3. Check for corrosion: Examine the connector pins and board pads for green/white corrosion. Clean gently with contact cleaner and a soft brush. If traces are badly damaged, the board may need replacement.
• 4. Visual inspection of the board: Look for burnt components, cracked solder joints, or water damage on the main control board.
• 5. Test operation: Reassemble the panel, plug in the grill, and power on. If Er7 persists and buttons remain unresponsive, the keypad membrane or the control board is likely defective.
• 6. Replace faulty component: If available separately, replace the keypad overlay/control panel assembly. Otherwise, replace the complete control module following Tepro’s part breakdown. Label and transfer each connector one at a time to avoid mis‑wiring.
