Loud grinding or squealing noise from hopper area during operation

Safety first: Unplug the grill and empty the hopper before working on the auger.

• 1. Empty and inspect hopper: Remove all pellets and look for screws, stones, or other foreign objects.
• 2. Remove auger motor: Access the auger motor under or behind the hopper, remove mounting bolts, and slide the motor off the shaft.
• 3. Extract auger flight: Pull the auger out of the tube, twisting as needed. Remove any compacted pellets or debris.
• 4. Inspect bushings and shaft: Check the auger shaft ends and bushings for scoring or oval wear. Replace worn bushings or the entire auger assembly if necessary.
• 5. Light lubrication: If allowed by Tepro, apply a very light coat of food‑safe dry lubricant to the shaft ends (avoid oil that can attract dust). Do not lubricate where pellets contact directly.
• 6. Reassemble and test: Reinstall auger and motor, ensuring proper alignment. Run the auger briefly with an empty hopper to confirm quiet operation.
