Possible Causes
Restricted combustion air intake, Dirty fire pot with clogged holes, Weak combustion fan, Overfeeding pellets due to incorrect settings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the grill to cool and unplug before cleaning.
- 1. Clean fire pot thoroughly: Remove all ash and ensure all air holes in the fire pot are open.
- 2. Inspect air intake: Check the underside or rear intake vents for spider webs, dust, or grease. Clean to restore full airflow.
- 3. Verify fan operation: Ensure the combustion fan runs strongly during cook. Replace if slow or intermittent.
- 4. Reset feed settings: Restore default feed/P‑settings to prevent overfeeding pellets at low fan speeds.
- 5. Use quality pellets: Avoid pellets with high bark content or unknown composition, which can produce more soot.
