Possible Causes
Exposure to moisture and condensation, Lack of seasoning on steel surfaces, Damaged porcelain coating, Storing grill outdoors without cover
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the grill is cool and unplugged before maintenance.
- 1. Remove loose rust: Use a grill brush or fine steel wool to remove surface rust from grates and interior surfaces.
- 2. Clean and dry: Wipe surfaces with a damp cloth, then dry thoroughly.
- 3. Season bare metal: Apply a thin coat of high‑smoke‑point cooking oil to grates and exposed steel, then run the grill at medium heat for 30–60 minutes.
- 4. Repair porcelain chips: For small chips on porcelain grates, smooth edges and keep seasoned with oil. Replace heavily damaged grates.
- 5. Use a cover: Store the Tepro pellet grill under a fitted cover when not in use and avoid leaving pellets in the hopper in damp conditions.
