Possible Causes

Dry or worn auger bushings, Bent auger shaft rubbing tube, Foreign object in auger tube, Misaligned auger motor mount

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the grill. Empty the hopper before working on the auger.

  • Empty hopper and inspect: Remove pellets and look for screws, stones, or other debris in the auger intake.
  • Remove auger assembly: Detach the auger motor and slide the auger shaft out of the tube.
  • Inspect shaft and tube: Look for scoring, bends, or rust. Clean the tube and lightly sand any rough spots on the shaft.
  • Lubricate bushings (if serviceable): Apply a small amount of high-temperature, food-safe lubricant to the auger bushings if the design allows.
  • Replace worn parts: If the shaft is bent or bushings are excessively worn, install a new Timberwolf Auger Shaft Assembly and/or Timberwolf Auger Bushing Kit.
