Possible Causes
Pellet jam in auger tube, Foreign object in hopper or auger, Auger motor overheating, Auger shaft misalignment or bent
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the grill. Empty the hopper before disassembling the auger system.
- Empty hopper: Scoop or vacuum pellets out of the hopper to expose the auger intake.
- Check for foreign objects: Inspect the hopper and auger intake for screws, nails, or other debris that may have fallen in and jammed the auger.
- Remove auger motor: Access the auger housing from the side or rear, remove the motor mounting screws, and slide the motor and auger shaft assembly out if possible.
- Clear jam: Use pliers or a wooden dowel to break up compacted pellets and remove any obstructions from the auger tube.
- Inspect auger shaft: Check for bends, heavy rust, or damage. Replace the Timberwolf Auger Shaft Assembly if it is not straight or smooth.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the auger and motor, ensuring proper alignment and secure coupler connection. Refill the hopper with dry pellets and run a prime cycle to verify smooth operation.
