Display shows Er3 and the grill stops heating; fan may still run briefly before shutdown.

Safety first: If you suspect a grease fire, keep the lid closed, turn the grill OFF, and unplug it. Do NOT open the lid until flames subside. Keep a Class B fire extinguisher nearby.

• Inspect for grease buildup: Once fully cooled, remove grates and drip tray. Check for heavy grease accumulation in the drip pan, grease channel, and firepot area. Clean thoroughly with a plastic scraper and degreaser.
• Check exhaust flow: Remove the chimney cap and inspect the chimney and exhaust ports for soot or grease blockage. Clean with a brush to restore airflow.
• Locate the high-limit switch: On most Timberwolf pellet grills, a high-limit temperature switch is mounted on the firebox or inner wall. Inspect wiring for heat damage or loose spade connectors.
• Test the high-limit switch: With power disconnected, use a multimeter to check continuity across the switch. An open circuit at room temperature indicates a failed switch that must be replaced.
• Replace faulty high-limit switch: Remove mounting screws, transfer wires to the new Timberwolf High-Limit Temperature Switch, and reinstall with good metal-to-metal contact for proper sensing.
• Restart and monitor: After cleaning and repairs, run the grill at a low setting and monitor temperature to ensure it does not spike unexpectedly.
