Control panel shows Er4 and the auger does not feed pellets; grill will not ignite.

Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the grill. Ensure the hopper is empty or pellet level is low before working near the auger.

• Access the control compartment: Remove the side or front access panel to expose the Timberwolf main control board and wiring harnesses.
• Check auger motor connector: Locate the two-wire or three-wire plug labeled AUGER or FEED MOTOR on the control board. Ensure it is fully seated and not burned or melted.
• Inspect wiring harness: Follow the auger motor cable from the control board to the auger motor housing. Look for cuts, pinch points, or melted insulation.
• Check inline fuse (if equipped): Some Timberwolf models include a small inline fuse holder on the auger circuit. Open the holder and inspect/ohm the fuse; replace with the same rating if blown.
• Test auger motor: Disconnect the motor leads and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed Timberwolf Auger Drive Motor that must be replaced.
• Replace auger motor if needed: Empty the hopper, remove the auger cover plate, detach the motor from the auger shaft (usually via set screw or coupler), and install the new motor, ensuring proper alignment and secure mounting.
• Reassemble and test: Reconnect wiring, reinstall panels, plug in the grill, clear the error, and start a prime/ignition cycle to confirm pellet feed.
