Possible Causes
Pellet hopper ran empty, Wet or poor-quality pellets, Excessive ash buildup in firepot, Combustion fan not running at proper speed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the grill. Allow it to cool before cleaning the firepot.
- Check pellet level and quality: Open the hopper and verify there are enough pellets. Inspect for signs of moisture (swollen, crumbly pellets). Discard any wet pellets and refill with fresh, dry Timberwolf-compatible hardwood pellets.
- Clean the firepot: Remove grates, drip tray, and heat diffuser. Vacuum out ash and unburned pellets from the firepot and surrounding area. Ensure the air holes in the firepot are not blocked.
- Inspect combustion fan operation: During startup, confirm that the combustion fan runs strongly. If airflow seems weak, clean the fan intake and housing and check for obstructions.
- Prime the auger: If the hopper ran empty, run a prime cycle (if available) or start the grill with the lid open to verify pellets are feeding into the firepot before attempting ignition.
- Restart the grill: After cleaning and refilling, restart the grill following the manufacturer’s startup procedure. Monitor the first 10–15 minutes to ensure a stable flame is established.
