Possible Causes

Empty pellet hopper, Pellet bridge or tunnel preventing feed, Jammed auger with swollen pellets, Faulty hopper level sensor (if equipped)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the grill before reaching into the hopper or working near the auger.

  • Refill hopper: Check the hopper and refill with dry, high-quality pellets. Avoid overfilling above the recommended level.
  • Break pellet bridges: Use a wooden stick or gloved hand to stir pellets in the hopper and break up any bridges or tunnels that prevent pellets from dropping into the auger intake.
  • Check for auger jam: If pellets are present but not feeding, remove pellets from the hopper and inspect the auger intake area for compacted sawdust or swollen pellets. Clear any blockage.
  • Test hopper level sensor (if present): Some Timberwolf models use a hopper level switch. Inspect its wiring and mounting. If the sensor is stuck or damaged, replace the Timberwolf Hopper Level Sensor.
  • Prime the auger: After clearing jams and refilling, run a prime cycle to ensure pellets are feeding consistently into the firepot.
