Possible Causes
Pellet feed rate too low, Combustion fan speed unstable, Excessive ash choking firepot, RTD probe misreading low temperature
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the grill before cleaning or adjusting components.
- Clean firepot thoroughly: Remove all ash and unburned pellets. Ensure air holes are fully open.
- Observe pellet feed: During operation, watch through the firepot area (with lid open briefly and caution) to confirm a consistent pellet drop. If feed is intermittent, inspect the auger and hopper for jams.
- Check fan operation: Listen for the combustion fan cycling off unexpectedly. If it stops or surges, test and replace the Timberwolf Combustion Fan Assembly if needed.
- Verify temperature sensing: If the controller thinks the grill is hotter than it is, it may reduce feed too much. Compare displayed temperature with a reference thermometer and replace the RTD if inaccurate.
