Possible Causes
Control board feed algorithm fault, Auger motor sticking ON, RTD probe reading too low, Excessive airflow from leaks or missing components
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If the grill is excessively hot, turn it OFF, unplug it, and keep the lid closed until temperature drops. Do not open the lid during a suspected grease fire.
- Inspect RTD probe: Clean and verify it is firmly mounted. Replace the Timberwolf RTD Temperature Probe Assembly if readings are clearly low compared to a reference thermometer.
- Check auger control: During operation, observe whether the auger runs continuously instead of cycling. If so, the Timberwolf Digital Control Board may be faulty or the auger relay stuck.
- Verify internal parts are installed: Ensure the heat diffuser, drip tray, and grates are correctly installed. Missing parts can alter airflow and temperature control.
- Inspect for air leaks: Check door gasket and body seams. Replace worn Timberwolf Door Gasket and tighten loose panels.
