How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Work on a cool grill and wear gloves when scrubbing rust.
- Remove surface rust: Use a grill brush or fine steel wool to remove loose rust from grates and interior surfaces.
- Season grates: Apply a thin coat of high-smoke-point cooking oil to grates and run the grill at 350°F for 30–45 minutes.
- Touch up paint (exterior only): For exterior rust, sand lightly and apply high-temperature grill paint compatible with Timberwolf finishes.
- Use a cover: Store the grill under a Timberwolf Weather Cover when not in use and avoid leaving pellets in the hopper in damp climates.
