How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill. Wear gloves and eye protection when clearing jams.
- 1. Empty hopper:
- Remove all pellets from the hopper and vacuum out dust.
- 2. Remove auger motor:
- Unscrew the auger motor from the auger shaft.
- Disconnect the motor wiring harness.
- 3. Extract auger shaft:
- Remove the screws securing the auger housing cover.
- Pull the auger shaft out, twisting back and forth to break up compacted pellets.
- 4. Clean auger tube:
- Use a long brush or dowel to remove all pellet debris from the tube.
- Dry the tube thoroughly if moisture is present.
- 5. Inspect auger and motor:
- Check the auger flighting for bends or heavy rust; clean or replace if damaged.
- Test the motor off-load; replace if weak or noisy.
- 6. Reassemble and test:
- Reinstall the auger and motor, ensuring proper alignment.
- Refill with fresh, dry pellets and test feed.
